Evangelism

The team checks the Sunday attendance sheets for visitors. If they are provided with an address or telephone number, they are visited/called or sent a “Thank You for Visiting” note with church activities and information. The team meets monthly to send “Welcome to the Neighborhood” notes to a list of new residents in our area. The team also sends “Miss You” cards to anyone that hasn’t been seen in church recently. In addition, they prepare “New Member” packets including a variety of information about the church activities.

 Family/Fellowship

Holiday Meals:  Meals are provided on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day for those who wish to join in fellowship and good food.

Monthly Pot Luck:  Dinners are held from September through May where new members are introduced amid fellowship and great food.

Bereavement Meals:  Meals are prepared for those wishing to fellowship with friends and family following a Funeral/Memorial Service.

 Missions/Outreach

The goal of this team is to “reach out with God’s love” beyond ourselves and our church through support of The United Methodist Children’s Home, the Operation Christmas Child program and by supporting the Ecumenical Ministries Inc. through Christmas Sharing (Angel Tree), the Food Pantry, the Emergency Aid programs with volunteer hours and donations. In addition, we support the missions of the United Methodist Men, United Methodist Women and Lillian Optimist of Perdido Bay.

Prayer Ministries

The Prayer Ministry has four separate functions and leaders that cover the following:

Prayer Chain:  We have a group of dedicated prayer warriors who pray for all prayer requests for 30 days, longer when updated.

Monthly Prayer Service:  Once a month there is a midweek Community Prayer Service.  The focus is on prayer with different speakers and a time of healing.  In March we focus on the World Day of Prayer and in May the National Day of Prayer.

Prayer Shawl Ministry:  A prayer shawl can cover a person in peace, prayer, healing and grace.  Meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Friday every month, gathering to knit and crochet shawls for people in need of comfort.

Pastor's Men's Prayer Group:  Pastor Daniel meets with a small group of men for a special time of prayer every Tuesday at 7:00 A.M.
